Fasting, Miracles, and Giving All Credit To God

On Sunday I fasted. In my religion we can fast on the first Sunday of every month in honor of someone in need. I have a few friends that are quite ill and I fasted for their health and healing. And I added a business question which really has been on my heart for many months, but I phrased it in a different way. It’s hard to explain what I asked God about, and because of the way Monday unfolded it’s almost too sacred to share.

And, one friend had the best nights sleep she had in weeks and another is on the mend.

And, in a miraculous way God showed up unexpectedly with my question. I didn’t fast for speaking engagements, (though I could have, Heaven help all my speaker friends in a pandemic!). On Monday, I received FOUR invitations to speak on my favorite subject. Three of them booked in same day, and the other has a hold on my calendar and I should hear back in a week or so. THREE. In one day. Paid engagements. In the history of my speaking career I have never had four invites or inquiries in one day AND three book on the same day. Miraculous! I give all praise to God.

This doesn’t always happen. I’ve fasted for friends and they didn’t get better. I’ve fasted for my business and my questions were not answered. I still give praise to God. He’s teaching me and refining me every step of the way.

Sometimes it’s easy for me to catalog all the things that don’t go right and even make a checklist of ways God hasn’t shown up. I sometimes wave my offerings like a flag showing that I deserve answers. He’s patient in my indignation, and still leads me along.

Monday, today, and every day 365 days from now I want to remember this part of this day.

There were also a few tragic things that happened. Not everything went right in my life. Monday was a mix of the HARD and the good and the good may have saved me.
