The Most Glorious Promise to Covenant Israel

Jesus is teaching me to love Sunday school. I like it more times than I don’t, but it’s even harder through zoom. Today I wept as the teacher shared & the spirit taught my heart.

Even though I read these verses this week, they have so much more meaning to me today. We talked about how Moroni told us at the end of Mormon chapter 9 about how God is a God of miracles. If you add that with the story of the brother of Jared before he sees the hand of the Lord, you can learn about the faith of the brother of Jared that makes his later veil experience possible.

Jared and his brother boldly ask God to loose their tongues, and show them where they should live. I love that they believed that Heavenly Father would grant these requests, even the miracles spoken of by Mormon. Heavenly Father even says that it was because they did cry to him.

I think of these two stories, and President Nelson’s charge for us to seek personal revelation:

“If we are to have any hope of sifting through the myriad of voices and the philosophies of men that attack truth, we must learn to receive revelation.”

“Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory. But in coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost.”

Here’s the miracle in these scriptures:

1. We are told we can have the same experience as the brother of Jared. Do you believe? We can have revelations like he did!

2. There is doctrine not shared because the world doesn’t believe it. WE CAN see it, with a broken heart and a contrite spirit. The promise that if we believe we can see what is not being said, and understand more than is being taught. We can see it even if others can’t. Personal revelation is the key. Heavenly Father’s miracles are the key. Faith in God’s power is the key.

3. We can “rend the veil”. Did you see that?!? Not just prophets. Not just the brother of Jared. WE can. The house of Israel. Do you remember President Nelson asking us in October 2020 General Conference to find the promises made to covenant Israel? This is one of them! A promise made to covenant Israel! We can rend the veil and see things others cannot see if we are on the covenant path.

Moroni believed that God is a God of miracles.

Jared and the brother of Jared believed God is a God of miracles.

President Nelson believes God is a God of Miracles.

Do you?

If not, simply start with the promise that God knows you and loves you. Then cry unto Him and believe he will answer your prayers and let you see things the world cannot see.

I’m claiming this promise and I hope you’ll join me!
